Colleen has been a valued member of the team at The Woodlands Dental Group with Dr. Vakil since 2022. Her responsibilities at the office include filing claims, auditing accounts, completing patient checkout, verifying insurance information, and updating fee schedules. She received her training through hands-on experience at the first dental office she began her career at in 1990.
Outside of work, Colleen enjoys spending time with her loved ones, including her three dogs and young son. She’s also an avid camper and supporter of Texan football! Four words to describe Colleen include talkative, friendly, organized and trustworthy.
Marla has been involved in the field of dentistry since 1988 and with The Woodlands Dental Group since 1992! Her compassionate care, dependable presence and honest nature have made her a core member of the team. Marla takes pride in ensuring that patients come first and she loves to help individuals overcome their dental anxiety. As a dental assistant, her responsibilities include helping patients love their smile!
When she’s not at work, Marla enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, dancing with her husband, and working in her yard! She’s involved in helping out at the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Priscilla came onboard the team at The Woodlands Dental Group in 2023 but she’s been working in dentistry for over two decades! She attended dental assistant school in Houston, Texas and has also completed practice management and office management training. Priscilla is passionate about fostering relationships with patients and providing high quality care.
Outside of the practice, Priscilla loves to travel with her family and particularly enjoys taking cruises! She stays closely involved with her children and describes herself in three words as being ambitious, generous, and adaptable.
Shelda received her education from the Eastern Idaho Vocational School in Idaho Falls. She is also certified in CPR and has taken various CE courses. She has been a valued member of the team at The Woodlands Dental Group since 2013 and has been involved in the field since 1982.
Outside of the office, Shelda enjoys running, kickboxing, and spending time at the beach. She describes herself as being a team player, reliable, honest and kind. Shelda is passionate about dentistry as it provides her with an outlet to help people with their health via one-on-one care.
Stacy has been a team member at The Woodlands Dental Group since 2019! She received her education at Shasta College in Redding, California and has furthered her training in laser dentistry, nitrous oxide, and dental anesthesia. Stacy’s responsibilities in the office include creating healthier, happier smiles! Her compassion and empathy help her to connect with patients and to provide comprehensive care.
Outside of work, Stacy can be found traveling, exercising, and spending time with her family, friends, and animals. She describes herself as being responsible, dependable, loyal, and caring!
Yelena received her education from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut at the Fones School of Dental Hygiene. She has received additional training in myofunctional therapy and she’s certified in laser dentistry and local anesthesia. Yelena has been working in the field of dentistry since 2004 and has been a valued team member with The Woodlands Dental Group since 2022.
In her spare time, Yelena enjoys gardening, traveling, hiking, and practicing pilates. She also loves spending time with her spouse, her children, and her dogs. Yelena describes herself in a few words as being friendly, reliable, and loyal.
Natalie received her education from Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, TX, and began her career in dentistry in 1986. She has also obtained her certification in laser dentistry and anesthesia. Upon joining the team at The Woodlands Dental Group in 2019, Natalie has helped countless patients experience their happiest, healthiest smiles!
Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, including her daughter, her son, and her beloved grandson! She loves traveling, exercising, and volunteering at the Houston Junior Forum. She describes herself as being organized, timely, kind, and honest and her favorite quote is “living the dream!”
